Submission Guidelines

Call for Abstract

The KSSS 2021 invites abstracts for oral presentations and e-posters in areas relevant to the work of spine research as well as evidence-based practice spine surgery. The focus of the KSSS 2021 is on sharing the experiences of cases and exchange of information among the countries. We would like to ask for abstracts that address or discuss diversity on reviews from different viewpoints and angles. All abstracts presented at the congress will be published on the Journal of Korean Society of Spine Surgery. We look forward to your participation and interest.

Abstract Submission Deadline: January 31(Sun), 2021
Notification of Abstract Acceptance: February 26(Fri), 2021
Early Bird Registration: April 30(Fri), 2021
Standard Registration May 29(Sat), 2021

Abstract Submission Information

The Scientific Program Committee cordially invites prospective authors to submit the abstracts for presentation at KSSS 2021 which will be held on May 28(Fri) – 29(Sat), 2021 in Seoul, Korea.

Submissions are invited in the following categories

1. Basic Research 2. Cervical 3. Lumbar
4. MISS 5. Deformity 6. Trauma
7. Tumors 8. Infections 9. Miscellaneous

Participation type: Free paper, Symposium

Presentation Type: Oral, E-poster, Either

The Deadline for abstract submission is January 31(Sun), 2021 (Korean Standard Time). Abstract Submission is available only through the official website: Please submit your abstract for oral and e-poster presentation following our submission guidelines on the official website.

Rules of Abstract Submission

• All abstracts MUST be written ONLY in English.
• All required fields must be completely filled with correct information. Submitters are responsible for all errors on the abstract.
• After submitting the abstract and going through the review, you should register within the registration due date.
    Otherwise, your abstracts will be dropped.
• Abstracts submitted by email will not be accepted.
• The abstract content should include the followings: Purpose, Methods, Result, Conclusion, and Keywords.
• If you have submitted an oral presentation type and is not accepted as an oral presentation by scientific committee,
    the abstract will automatically become an e-Poster.
• Incorrect information inputted will not be accepted and will automatically be dropped from the abstract evaluation process.
• You can revise your abstracts online until the submission deadline through the abstract system.
• Abstract submission is from November 30(Mon), 2020 to January 31(Sun), 2021.

Submission Instruction

• Step 1: Prepare Abstract(s)
Abstract should be written and presented in English.
Authors' information: Authors’ information including correct email addresses are required.
Abstract should consist of Purpose, Materials and methods, Results, Conclusion.
Each abstract should be up to 400 words.
Graphics, Figures and Tables are NOT allowed in the abstract.

• Step 3: Click the “Abstract Submission” icon at the bottom of the page and sign up first.

Oral Presentation

• Once the abstract is accepted, instruction for the presentation will be sent to you by email.
• All Oral Presentation will be presented in English.
• International oral presenters are supposed to submit pre-recording presentation for COVID-19.
   Discussion will be the live-streaming.
• Pre-recording presentation submission deadline is May 3(Mon), 2021. (International Presenters ONLY)
* Depending on COVID-19 levels from Korean government, the scale of the meeting onsite will be adjusted.
   (Domestic presenters only)

E-Poster Presentation

Posters will be 'E-Posters' and will be done through online.
E-poster file upload open date will be announced in the future.

Confirmation of Abstract Submission

An acknowledgement of abstract submission will be automatically sent to abstracts submitter, first author, corresponding author and co-authors by e-mail upon completion of e-submission. This letter is not an acceptance notification but a notification of your abstract details. It is the responsibility of each individual to verify the acknowledgements and carefully review the submitted abstract(s), noting that in some cases during the submission process, characters become illegible. If you do not receive an Abstract Submission Confirmation e-mail in 5 days, please contact the Secretariat via e-mail,
